कुणाल बैकुंठ सिंह (Kunal Baikunth Singh)

Born to Late Shri Baikunth Singh and Late Smt. Siya Devi in the year 1967, Mr.Kunal Singh, the Producer, Director, Writer, and the Hero of the first ever Angika Language Feature Film, “Khagariya Vali Bhouji” belongs to Bodhnagar-Titahi village of Shambhuganj Block under Banka District of Anga region (Bihar State) of India.

His early days were spent in financial scarcities. He did his Primary schooling from Rajghat Middle School, at Banka. After completion of 10 th Board exam from Madita Vidyarthi High School, he moved to Evening College (Now B.N.College) for his Intermediate. He had to leave his graduation incomplete due to financial paucity. Meanwhile he did farming, raring cattles, sold milk up to Rampur Bazaar.

Thereafter, he left for Delhi with just one Rupee in hand. There he started working in a leather factory with a salary of Rs. 30/- per day. For his hard work, he was promoted to the store manager. Later, he was appointed as chairman…

Khissa Chando Bihula Bishari Ke (खिस्सा चांदो बिहुला बिसहरी के ) is the first ever completed feature film in Angika Language, however, it could not see the face of theatre as it was not released due to various reasons.

“Khissa Chando Bihula Bishari Ke” would be the next film, which is in the foray for screening shortly on Indian silver screen after “Khagaria Vali Bhouji”. According to the sources, 'Khissa Chando Bihula Bishari Ke' was scheduled to be released on May 04, 2007. It is told that 'Khissa Chando Bihula Bishari Ke' is the first ever Angika Film which has been granted a Certificate for the release by the Censor Board.

Things were quite different some years ago. Films made in Gujarati, Marathi and Punjabi languages ruled in respective states with much success. Other regional films like Bhojpuri films then were nowhere seen. But since 2005, Bhojpuri films began gaining ground.

It is not the State or Central government body or any Millionaire or Billionaire but a youngster in his thirties belonging to lower income class family of Bihar, Mr. Kunal Baikunth Singh, who has led up to produce the first Feature Film of Angika language. Ironically, Mr. Kunal is very much optimistic for the releasing of the film even in the adverse condition of the availability of the adequate fund. The shooting of the film was started in the mid of the year 2006. Few of the scenes of the film were shot in Bhagalpur, the historical city of Anga Desh. Crores of Angika Speaking people of Anga are now eagerly waiting for the release of this low budget film, which is named as “Khagaria Vali Bhouji”.
